Young Zechs- Colored

This pic of Zechs was drawn first on pencil and paper, then basic color was added in using PS CS2, touchups and finishing off was done in GIMP 2. I think I spent about 10 hours on this total, it's the most extensive coloring by computer I've ever done, and I did this while learning GIMP, so it produced a lot of headaches and WTF moments XD The version I did using CS2 didn't look as good; you couldn't see his eye color at all, and it was a bit more patchy. Touchups were done mostly using very tiny brushes (1x1 or 3x3 pixels).

Oh, if anyone can give me a reference pic or tips on how to add highlights to his hair, I'd really appreciate it.
